Greece does have beautiful coastlines and spectacular blue water.  It is a friendly country to tourists, and they are hospitable to those who get to know them.

Greeks are exceptionally social and affectionate people who value close family and friendship ties much more than we do in America.  There's a lot more hugging going on, and kissing on the cheek than I have ever seen in America!

The Ruins and historic artifacts are many places to be found, and the museums are world class.  I really enjoy shopping in Plaka, down by the base of the Acropolis in Athens.

The prices of goods, meals and services is very reasonable as compared to American and typical European prices.  The food is always prepared fresh and it is hard to find a bad Greek meal.

The nightly entertainment is outrageous, especially if you enjoy bouzouki music, and Greek folk dancing.  They really get into it.  No one tries to hurry you to finish your meal for the next customer to come in.  Most guests stay the entire evening at one table, and have numerous courses of food over time.

I love the experience of the islands and the Plaka area of Athens.  It is what Greece is known for and best remembered for.
