The Definition Of Evil:

"The unwilllingness to see through
the eye's and heart of another person,
to fail to feel and share other's perceptions, to refuse to experience someone's suffering empathically, to minimize or trivialize the agony of another, to be consumed with selfish interests in the name of a righteous cause."

"Those who choose not to feel or understand the pain of others are flirting with evil.  Many Christians, and unfortunatly Christian leaders, fit the above description of a cruel Nazi.  When we see pain in others we must do as Jesus did and share their suffering.  The further we distance ourselves from the pain of others the more surly we condemn ourselves to the same eventual fate.

Those who do feel and share the hurts of others are the caring hand of Jesus, ministers of His love . Each day we are faced with opportunities to practice the Gospel.  We can either hit people over the head with the words of the Bible, or choose to practice the love and Spirit of Christ demonstrated in the Bible. It's more important to show others the love of Christ, than talk about it."

Hannah, the mother of Samuel in the Bible, was an ordinary woman with extraordinary need. Hannah blew the lid off of conventional Theology of her time. Hannah pushed aside the proper and respectable forms of prayer and sought God on her own like her soul was on fire, (metaphorically it was). Hannah did something no one else of her time could do. That was obtain a miracle from God. Hannah perceived her need with such emotional intensity she would be called a nut today. She was believing for the impossible, a son to her barren womb. But when the intensity of her passion for God's will in her life intersected with the agony of her need, God literally took notice and the miraculous occurred. Hannah metaphorically ripped the temple roof off seeking the healing power of God. In today's vernacular she was, "Hell bent" to get her answer to prayer, but in this case perhaps, "Heaven bent" would be more appropriate.

So why is it so hard for us to believe that God will hear our prayers today?
